Every stone
holds light
waiting to be found.

In the shadow of the Cascades, along the Nooksack River valley, each gem begins its journey as raw earth — pulled from the ground, rough and unassuming. Our work is listening to what's already there.

Hand-cut using traditional lapidary techniques refined over decades, each facet is placed with intention. Not to impose beauty, but to reveal it.

From earth to light —
a careful journey.

01

Rough Selection

Each rough stone is chosen by hand for its crystal structure, clarity potential, and natural color zoning. The right rough stone determines everything that follows.

02

Design & Orientation

The stone is studied under polarized light. Axis orientation, inclusions, and color concentration guide the cutting plan — maximizing yield and optical performance.

03

Faceting

Using a precision lap wheel, each facet is ground and polished to exact angles calculated for the stone's refractive index. A standard cut may involve 40–80 individual facets.

04

Final Polish

The finished stone is polished to a mirror surface, inspected for meets and optical symmetry, then measured and certified. Only then does it leave our hands.

The sapphire he cut for my engagement ring was absolutely extraordinary. You could see the light move through it like water. Nothing I'd seen in any jewelry store came close.
